What Our Guests Say…

Very clean!
Guest: Frank and Maryann (Kodiak)

Date of Stay: 08/06/12

Hi Larry and Jacque, thank you for squeezing us in on short notice
at Black Bear Bunglow. It was very clean had everything we needed.
We enjoyed our stay and will let others know about your web site.

Thanks again,
Frank & Maryann

I absolutely loved this place!
Guest: Donna C (Virginia)

Date of Stay: 07/14/12

I absolutely loved this place! I felt that it was worth every penny!
It totally beat staying in a hotel; for the same amount of money.
It was very clean and homie!! My boyfriend is stationed at Eielson
AFB, so this was a GREAT getaway for him! It was also a great place
to unwind after we toured the city.

We literally had everything we needed in this cabin (fisherman folly).
The only thing we brought were groceries. The owners of this property
are very nice.

I have recommended this place to my friends and
family who plan to visit Alaska. Once my guy earns more leave (which will
be in November) I will be staying here again. We’ll probably stay at “the
black bear,” because my son will be with us!

Truly a home away from home!
Guest: Anne C (Florida)

Date of Stay: 07/09/12

What can I say that others haven’t? We first stayed in the Black Bear cabin
and even our teenage grandson’s were impressed.

It was everything that we wanted, needed and more. My oldest grandson said it
was the first time he had ever gone home from a vacation with all his clothes
clean, ha!

We were fortunate to stay in the Fisherman’s Folly after another
rental later in the month  (not one of the Suite Dreams Alaska cabins)
was a disaster and we couldn’t stay there. Jacque asked me to compare
the two cabins and, really, it’s very difficult. Other than the decor they
both go above-and-beyond the usual vacation rental and if we
could have brought either cabin home with us, we would have!

I could imagine us, a retired couple, living comfortably in either of them.
Truly a home away from home!

Started out for a week or two, stayed almost 2 months!
Guest: Andrea S (Washington)

Date of Stay: 07/05/12

What turned out to be a tentative a week or two week stay was actually
almost a two month stay for me with Larry and Jacque in a two of their
wonderful cabins. I could have not had any better accommodations and
service from them! I had everything I needed plus more down to the
coffee to Internet service and the feeling of being right at home.

Anything I needed, they were right there to help me out with.
I highly recommend their cabins whether it be for a short weekend stay or
a longer stay. You will not be disappointed and if you need anything special, I
know you will receive it. Loved the feeling of peace I received during my stay.

Thank you Jacque and Larry for all you did for me. Andrea

Alaska Dreams come true!

The absolutely nicest place we stayed on our trip to Alaska.
The cottage has every possible creature comfort. Lovely kitchen,
beautifully appointed throughout, washer and dryer, microwave, great flat
screen TV, convenient location, Alaskan decor. It was clean and everything was
top quality. The owners were more than hospitable. Great folks. I would highly
recommend this property to anyone in the Anchorage area and would love to
return. We loved seeing Hatcher Pass and the Independence abandoned gold mine.

Wanted to thank you for the comfy accommodations in Alaska,
we really enjoyed our time there! I was most grateful for the soft thick
towels–loved them! Also grateful for all the little things, such as baggies,
coffee filters, Q tips, you really have thought of everything!

Thanks, Joy & Phil

Black Bear Bungalow
Guest: Robert B (Kansas)

Date of Stay: 05/29/12

My family and I stayed at this cabin for 3 nights. It was very clean and was
fully equipped with everything you would need during your stay. We were
very comfortable there and the mountain views were awesome. The location
was quiet and peaceful.

The kids enjoyed the board games, books, and the satellite TV. Having two
decks to sit out on and take in the mountain views were relaxing.

Also being able to have a grill and picnic table outside was convenient.
The wireless Internet was helpful in planning out our daily excursions.
Hatchers Pass, hiking at Butte, a visit to Palmer, and the Iditarod Trail
Sled Dog Museum in Wasilla were some of the great local places to visit.

Larry and Jacque were very insightful on things to do in the area and
made our stay enjoyable, making us feel at home.

Great place to stay and priced fairly. Would recommend to friends and relatives.

Charming home away from home!
Guest: Jesse and Denise A (Washington )

Date of Stay: 01/01/12 through 02/15/12

This charming themed cabin was a perfect home
away from home for our family of 4 until we were able to move into our new home
in Wasilla. The furnished cabin is new and extremely clean and comfortable, and
the kitchenette made mealtime quick and budget-friendly.

Wireless Internet and a large flat screen TV with satellite were also nice to have
during our extended stay. The “Alaska Dreams” unit even had a convenient
bathroom upstairs. We enjoyed the privacy of having the cabin all to ourselves,
as opposed to a hotel room, yet it was more affordable than a hotel room. Also,
the nice gas stove with thermostat keeps the unit quite “toasty”
warm, not a bit drafty in the winter.

The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful, even giving great tourist
advice. They provided amenities down to the very detail, such as plush towels,
family board games, and children’s books and Alaska books on the bookshelf.
Finally, the unit has easy access (about a mile) to the Parks Highway,
Walmart, and the new movie theater in Wasilla, yet enjoys a rural front door
view, with moose as the frequent neighbors.

We really enjoyed our stay here!!

What more could you need?? Perfectly Perfect.
Guest: Georgie Y (Michigan )

Date of Stay: 12/16/12

We stayed at the black Bear cabin for 5 nights in December,
using it as a base while searching property to move up to Wasilla.
This cabin was just perfect in every way.

First off, it was close to everything (5 minutes)…restaurants,
grocery stores, even a movie theatre if you needed one
(we didn’t), but tucked away enough to feel secluded. Adorable,
immaculate cabin…spotlessly clean, comfortably warm, cozy
and inviting, amazing view.

They thought of everything one could possibly need, except food
and toothpaste. We would never consider staying anywhere else,
and when we move up to Alaska in spring will insist that our
visitors stay here if we can’t accommodate them.

Thank you Larry and Jacque for a wonderful, memorable get away.

BEST Cabins in Alaska
Guest:andrewpengineering (Soldotna and Anchorage Alaska)

Date of Stay: 08/25/11 through 01/01/12

My family and I have stayed in furnished cabins and extended stays in
Talkeetna, Anchorage, Soldotna, Sterling, Fairbanks, Cantwell, etc., etc.,
etc, and this was the BEST of the best. We moved in as a temporary place
to stay, and ended up extending our stay to over four months.

Larry and Jacque were fantastic hosts, and made sure we had
EVERYTHING we needed. They put a new spin on the words
“all inclusive”. Describing the cabins as “fully furnished” is almost
an insult to how much detail and effort Jacque put into stocking and
furnishing the cabins. We were initially a bit reluctant of the the
locations because I grew up in Wasilla, and the location sounded
sort of close to the “city”, but the neighborhood was very peaceful and quiet.

We played in the yard and felt like we had a little country retreat.
The kids had just enough woods and yard to have little adventures,
but we were also close enough to amenities that we could walk to the
nicest restaurant in town and Wal-Mart was a two minute drive.

To be critical, which was very difficult, the cabin is a bit hard to keep
warm when it is -10*. To be realistic, there aren’t many houses in Alaska
that aren’t difficult to keep warm at -10*. (I used to be a home energy inspector,
so I can speak with authority on the subject.) We just had more -10* days this
year that I’ve seen in a long time.

Parking and space was ample. We parked a 36′ motor home in the driveway,
and didn’t encroach on anyone’s space. I think at the peak of parking with
visitors and other guests,

we had a car, two vans, a truck, a big SUV, and a motor home parked in the
driveway, and I still played and sledded in the yard with my three kids.

We would and have recommended staying here to others. The prices are
exceptionally reasonable given what is offered. We paid 25% more for a
comparable place this winter, and were sorely disappointed.

I think Larry and Jacque’s property has likely spoiled us for life. We’ll likely
have to lower our expectations to enjoy a stay anywhere else.

Exceeded my expectations!
Guest: lola the pharmacist traveler (Chicago)

Date of Stay: 09/27/11

This charming cabin exceeded my expectations of atmosphere,
location and comfort. We loved the bear theme. We especially loved the views
and feeling of being out in the woods and comfortable beds. It was very well
stocked so we made it our home after one visit for food provisions at the near
by Walmart, Carrs and Target.

Anyone wanting to experience living and touring around Wasilla,
Anchorage, Whittier and other near by areas should treat
themselves to this. Thank goodness it’s a no smoking cabin so it
smelled clean and fresh.

Jackie and Larry are also very helpful giving you ideas for fun.

What a Way to Relax!!
Guest: The Hampton Gang (Kenai, Alaska)
Date of Stay: 09/03/11

If you’re looking for all the conveniences of home but peace, quiet and
tranquility then this is it. We so enjoyed staying for the long Labor Day
weekend and being able to have a warm, comfortable and relaxing place
to stay after visiting the state fair.

Everything mentioned and shown in the listing was accurate and so
conveniently located to everything in the Wasilla/Palmer area. So very clean
and nicely prepared and decorated. We have already began spreading the
word and are planning our next trip back.

Why pay outrageous hotel/motel prices when you can have a wonderful
place to stay like this. While staying there you’ll have to either dine or
order delivery from Evangelo’s…they have AMAZING pizza. And
how can you go wrong with staying here when Walmart and the movie
theater is just 2 minutes away!!!

Thanks again Larry & Jacque

Great place to stay!

We stayed in September 2011 long weekend and this house exceeded
all expectations! ! My 7 years daughter enjoyed the house most. It was
a fabulous house, fully furnished, spacious and very private.

The house was very clean, well equipped, well decorated, We
loved Homer and will be back again and hope to stay in this house
because it was a large part of what made this such a wonderful vacation.

This house is like your own private resort. Excellent customer service as well.

Modern, well maintained and appointed cabin conveniently located in Wasilla.

Guest: Jim P (Golden, CO)
Date of Stay: 07/25/11

Stayed here a month while working on a project. The cabin is
well stocked and comfortable, and the owners are good people. The location is
close to everything in Wasilla without being too central.

All the appliances are in good shape, and the only technical difficulties
were with the Internet connection, which was mostly resolved by the
time of my departure. I would recommend the Alaska Dreams Cabin as a
good place for an extended stay in the Wasilla area.
